The Phoenix

On the shore of Sun’s flare
From the ashes of his ancestor’s share
He awakened his own soul.
In a frenzy he opened his scorching eyes and glanced at the world beneath his feet.
Descendant of the Sun,
Carrying the seven prismatic colours and a golden crest of feathers on his head,
The Phoenix put forth his first step but
The land wasn’t meant for his dare.

Flapping his broad tail and singing its own tale,
Shedding a drop of tear and mending his own fear,
He casted a blissful shadow across the golden heir of Earth’s masses.
Along the flames of his predecessor the bird flailed the beams above while
His glowing eyes forced the Sun to cast a shadow upon his light and
For a moment dwell in darkness’s sight.
The Phoenix with all hues of the rainbow,
Sang its song of intrepidness and
Soared higher than high in the sky.

Life has been easy on no being.
For 500 years,
Through the light and into the dark,
The Phoenix thrived.
And then, in the course of one of his flight,
His fire began its own fight.
The bird shined in many battles
But this was
A war with his own self.
And when one is at war with himself, the chaos is visible in his eyes.
Soon, the divine fire began to shrivel.
The bird was well aware that
Only death could save him from life. Thus,
For the last time,
He flapped his wide shivering wings and
Returned to the land which
He wasn’t meant for but he belonged to. And
For the first time,
He set his foot on the shallow end of his desires.
His graceful flight, at last, came to an end.
And then began
The quest for his resting nest.

Near a sprinkling rill,
On the top quarter of a tree, he lay on a perch.
His nest resembling the golden chariot of Karna, interwoven with silvery sticks and decorated with rose blooms and bleu mosses.
During the hour of sunset,
The Phoenix turned into an amber’s glow.
Thus, began the cycle of rebirth.
Sitting in his cup of mosses, the bird sang his song of melancholy and
Let out a thunderous scream.
The sunset suggested dying of the Sun and
The Phoenix’s searing heat, more furious than ever, this one moment burned his own heart.
The creatures around watched the bird setting his chariot on fire and turning himself into ashes.
The morning suggested rebirth of the Sun and
On the shore of Sun’s flare
From the ashes of his ancestor’s share
He awakened his own soul- the Phoenix.

Leaving for everyone
The legacy of blazing courage,
Far from our sight, up the skies, the Phoenix still soars.
And
As long as stays his heart ablaze,
The Phoenix will rise.
From the ashes of his own,
The Phoenix will rise!

Take care,

  3. Ohhho! This phoenix has set WordPress on fire! πŸ”₯ Such a hopeful, inspiring poem, Ayush. The final lines really evoked a feeling of faith and optimism! πŸ’™ Sabse pehle toh I loved how you tried to venture into new genres of poetry, other than the usual love, romance, and heartbreak ones. 😺 Great attempt at fiction.
The exciting imageries sprinkled throughout the poem creates a movie kind of effect. Mast laga mujhe toh. πŸ₯³ You did so much hardwork, huh. Only if it had some more element of story about the phoenix bird, like it happens in movies and stuff, this could’ve been more and more interesting. 🧐 It’s still really well written. πŸ˜€ I want more of these.
